Speakers
Dr Ashley Ng – Project Manager, Monash Partners

Dr Ashley Ng is a diabetes advocate and researcher. Her experience and career has stemmed from her lived experience advocacy journey within Australia and internationally. She is currently the project manager at Monash Partners for a MRFF funded project to better support the adoption of consumer and community involvement across healthcare improvement and health research.

Ms Leslie Arnott – WHRTN, Consumer Partnerships Lead

For over 20 years, Leslie has been a Consumer Advisor/Advocate in maternity services and now more broadly across women’s and general population health research. She holds lead roles in Consumer & Community Involvement (CCI) at WHRTN, MCHRI and at the Centre for Digital Transformation of Health (CDTH) at the University of Melbourne. Having completed a Master’s Degree in Maternal-Child Health Systems in 2018, her thesis was instrumental in spearheading a consumer engagement strategy on behalf of Women’s Healthcare Australasia (WHA). Leslie’s work is about connecting with communities and leveraging consumer voices (particularly those from priority populations), supporting clinicians and researchers to partner with consumer groups to provide research that is community-relevant, and through an equity lens, influencing changes in policy, research and service delivery, that ultimately leads to improved health outcomes for all Australians.
