Following the release of the Federal Government’s draft National Health and Medical Research Strategy (the Strategy), we are inviting Research Australia members to an exclusive virtual workshop to further unpack the themes of the Strategy. You can read the draft Strategy here.

Hear what’s in the Strategy and what it means for health and medical researchers and innovators from Research Australia’s Head of Policy, Projects and Advocacy, Dr Talia Avrahamzon, who will then facilitate a virtual workshop to allow you to share your insights on the Strategy and unpack gaps to directly contribute to Research Australia’s submission to the Government.

Details of the workshop are:

Date: 1 October 2025

Time: 11.00am – 12.30pm (Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra)

Location: Online. Zoom link to be provided upon registration.

You can also provide feedback via our short survey. We encourage you to complete the survey here by 26 September 2025. The results will be shared as part of the discussions at the workshop.

Research Australia is committed and passionate about the National Health and Medical Research Strategy. We initially led the call for the Strategy following member-wide consultations in 2020-2021. Throughout 2025, we have been working closely with Rosemary Huxtable AO PSM and her team to share your challenges and solutions. We are pleased to see so much of our input in the draft Strategy, however, there’s still more to strengthen during Phase 2. Now is the time to have your say.
