Tasmania’s North West Coast faces a variety of natural hazards, from storms to bushfire and changing climate. Responding and building resilience to these threats requires collaboration across sectors.

The University of Tasmania is hosting an informal networking lunch to bring together professionals and community leaders from the North West Coast who work in, or alongside, issues related to natural hazards and community resilience.

Organized by the University of Tasmania’s Natural Hazards, Disasters and Resilience Community of Practice, the event seeks to connect people, share experiences and identify opportunities for collaboration around these issues on the North West Coast.

The event will feature a drop-in buffet lunch, alongside some short presentations from UTAS researchers working at the forefront of natural hazards and adaptation challenges. This meeting seeks to:
1. Strengthen professional connections between government agencies, researchers, and practitioners in the Northwest
2. Improve our shared understanding of resilience, climate transition and emergency management in our region and Tasmania as a whole
3. Identify opportunities for future collaboration in research and practice.

This event is free for individuals working in natural hazards, resilience and response. Registration is required for catering purposes. Please register below.
