How do we ensure evidence-based research makes its way into everyday healthcare?
The Australian Health Research Alliance (AHRA) will explore this question at its upcoming webinar, From research to reality: The power of implementation science, Wednesday 18 November, 1pm–2pm AEDT, bringing together experts from across Australia’s Research Translation Centre network.
Implementation science focuses on understanding and improving how evidence-based interventions, practices and approaches are adopted and sustained in real-world healthcare settings.
The webinar will explore different aspects of implementation science and how it can help bridge the gap between research and practice.
The program includes:
- AHRA and the power of implementation science – Professor Carol Hodgson, Chair, AHRA
- Shaping the future: National strategy and implementation science – Professor Caroline Homer AO, National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Council
- Evaluating and implementing HeartPath+ – Dr Susie Cartledge, Monash Partners Health Translation Network
- The value of health economics in implementation science – Dr Zoe Szewczyk, Sydney Health Partners
- Consumers: The critical bridge to impact in implementation research – Dr Mary Kennedy and consumer representative Rochelle Oaklands, Western Australian Health Translation Network
The webinar will consider implementation from multiple perspectives – from evaluating and scaling evidence-based interventions, to understanding their economic value and ensuring consumers are meaningfully involved in implementation research.
As part of AHRA’s national network, the Tasmanian Collaboration for Health Improvement (TCHI) is supporting opportunities to build implementation science capability and strengthen the connection between research, healthcare and the communities they serve.
